The largest cooperative bank in the country, Saraswat Bank has set a target for achieving total business worth Rs 25,000 crore in this fiscal as compared to Rs 23,500 crore in the last fiscal. "We are a good bank and now we aspire to become a great bank," Saraswat Bank Chairman Eknath Thakur. He also said that the bank has opted for a focused growth plan. It has already takenover seven cooperative banks by investing funds as much as Rs 280 crore. He said that the bank is now looking for organic growth. He added that the bank plans to open 250 branches by the end of 2011. The bank currently has a branch network of 200 across six states of the country.
