SBI's NRI branch launched in Bangalore

The largest lender of the country, State Bank of India has set up a NRI branch as well as an ATM at Koramangala in Bangalore. SBI currently has 35 branches catering only to NRI services and 3500 more branches offering the facility across India.

SBI Chairman O P Bhatt said "We offer hi-tech products and world class services to suit NRI customers. Our remittance products are customised to the needs of NRIs wishing to send home money home quickly and safely."

Talking about taking care of the customers, he said that employees should cater to customers with grace and politeness. He said that employees should change their mindset be customer centric and help in making SBI 'banker to India' in true sense.

He added that the bank expects huge growth tide coming in the near future and aims to reach out to 1 lakh unbanked villages in the country.

SBI Deputy Managing Director Arundhati Bhattacharya said SBI is increasingly focussing on NRIs as it is a exapnding community.
