The largest private sector lender of the country, ICICI Bank has finally brought an end to its special teaser home loan scheme.

Senior bank officials have confirmed that these teaser loans have been discontinued by the bank. Teaser loans carried fixed rate of interest for the first two years followed by floating rates as per the prevailing base rate of the bank.

The scheme used to offer borrowers home loans at 8.25% for the first year, 9.25% for the second year followed by floating rate of interest thereafter.

The bank has also raised its deposit rates recently.

An IDBI Bank official said the cost of funds has gone up, in line with RBI's rate hike. "We have also hiked our deposit rates," the official said.
