Accused in fake note case gets jailed

A resident of Gomtipur, Ahmedabad, Istiaq Ahmad Abdul Rasid Ansari has been announced imprisonment for 8 years for allegedly depositing fake currency notes in a bank.

The main accused has been convicted and imprisonment announced, while it has asked the police to keep watch on the other accused in the case.

In case any activity of the other accused is found dubious, then it is in the rights of the investigating agency to arrest them and take appropriate legal action against them, said the court.

The other accused were released on grounds that they had no clue that the noted held by them are fake in nature.

Ansari was caught red handed along with his associated on April 30, 2008 by crime branch.
