Advance I-T receipt counters in 926 bank branches

With Income Tax payment date nearing, as many as 926 branches of banks in Mumbai as well as Navi Mumbai will act as centers for receiving Income Tax payments.

The banks involved in this belong to both public as well as private sector categories. The move has been made to make payment process easier and hassle free for the income tax assessees.

Amongst the total branch count, 862 are public sector bank branches, 35 HDFC bank branches, 10 ICICI bank branches and 19 AXIS bank branches.

Also counters have been set up at Reserve Bank of India. The apex bank has urged payees to make optimum utilization of the services being offered to them and avail hassle free submission of Income Tax.
