The premier organization of bank officers, All India Banks Officers Confederation (AIBOC), has formed a separate federation for the officers of nationalized banks. This new all-India association adds to the three separate federations that already operating under AIBOC. The existing federations are for officers working in private banks, regional rural banks and cooperative banks. The newly formed federation named as All India Nationalised Bank Officers Federation had called upon a meeting on Sunday January 18th to decide on its office representatives. Mr P K Sarkar of Union Bank of India has been elected as the President for the new federation while General Sectary post will be held by Mr K S Shetty of Syndicate Bank. The All India Banks Officers Confederation (AIBOC) was founded on October 6th, 1985 and it is one of the prominent trade union organizations of India. It is an apex body consisting of trade union organizations of supervisory staff members of many banking companies operating in India. It covers 85% of the market with around 2.5 lakh membership. |
