Private sector lender Catholic Syrian Bank has set up the first biometric ATM from its side. The ATM has been set at a village called Ozhur in Malappuram district of Kerala.

The installation of the biometric ATM comes as a step ahead towards financial inclusion on the part of the bank.

It aims to add another 50 such biometric ATMs across various locations in this fiscal, said Mr Jiz Kottukappally, Assistant General Manager of the bank.

The ATMs would have all normal features of a conventional ATM along with added ones including weather information, commodity price and stock prices.
