Public sector lender Canara Bank is planning on adding few more foreign offices to its network of offshore centers in this fiscal, said a top official of the bank.

Along with offshore expansion, the bank also plans to expand on the domestic front. It aims at adding 250-300 domestic branches this fiscal, said Ms Archana S Bhargava, executive director of the bank.

"New overseas branches attempted this year would be Japan in Far-East, Germany in Europe. Jeddah I would be able to do. South Africa I am in a state of preparedness," Ms Bhargava said.

The present branch count of the bank stands at 3300. 1700 branches amongst them are rural and semi urban branches.

The bank has overseas presence in London, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Leicester.
