Public sector lender, Corporation Bank has denied of having any present plans to takeover Pune based Rupee Cooperative Bank.

It was earlier reported that the bank is planning for the takeover as a part of expansion process.

"The report is absolutely wrong. We were earlier looking at it (but) now we don't have any interest in the co-operative," Ramnath Pradeep, CMD of the bank said.

"In Maharashtra, there are no other avenues, only by way of branches I'm going ahead (with expansion)," Pradeep said further.

Pradeep said that an offer had been received by the bank from a consultant but has not been considered.
