Credit rating agency CRISIL has removed negative ratings of nine microfinance institutions (MFIs). All these MFIs are primarily operative outside Andhra Pradesh. "The outlook on their long-term ratings is stable," Crisil said affirming the likelihood of non deterioration of their operating and funding environments. "MFIs outside Andhra have managed to endure the crisis by slowing down disbursements, conserving liquidity and maintaining healthy collections (of around 97 to 99 per cent)," Crisil said. These MFIs are getting funding from banks and other sources and Crisil expects that "the funding for these MFIs will revive faster once the regulatory environment for the MFI sector becomes clearer."
