Public sector lender, Central Bank of India has come up with a service to bring banking facilities to the customer's doorstep. The service has been named 'Door Step Banking.' According to the service, a bank representative of the bank will visit customer's addresses to carry out banking related transactions and also for check and draft collections. Banking transactions will entail delivering and picking cash too. "As a complementary service, the bank also proposes to pick-up instruments like cheques/drafts from the customer's residence/office at the time of pick-up/delivery of cash," the bank said. The scheme will be introduced first in Delhi and Mumbai. The bank added that services like Internet banking, SMS alert and mobile banking are already offered by the bank for customer's aid. The bank is technologically well-equipped to provide cost-effective and convenient services," the bank's Chairman and Managing Director, S Sridhar, said.
