Private sector lender Federal Bank has achieved commendable success in its aims towards financial inclusion drive in the state of Kerala. The bank has successfully set up Information Communication Technology/Business Correspondent model in 12 of its allotted villages and that too way before the target set to achieve the same.

While the target for the same was given to the bank for March 2012, the bank was able to reach it by March 17, 2011 only which is one year ahead of the target.

The Information Communication Technology (ICT) model has been named as Fed Jyothi by the bank.

The bank has incorporated Fed Jyothi in not only the 12 allotted villages but also across 48 other unbanked villages in the state.

Also, the bank happens to be the first private sector lender in Kerala to come up with a financial inclusion branch. The branch has been named ‘Grama Jeevan'.

It presently has 120 business correspondents (BCs) working for the bank.
