The banking software product of Infosys, Finacle has decided to target cooperative banks as their clients. It has already made 40 regional rural banks (RRBs) as its clients.

According to Haragopal Mangipudi, vice-president and global head - Finacle - Infosys, they are targetting those sponsored and commercial banks which have implemented core banking solutions (CBS) in practice.

Currently there are around 350 district level co-operative banks along with some urban co-ops having an average branch count of 15 to 40.

The solution being offered by Finacle is a focused one which has similar basic architecture as others but different solutions around the applications.

"We are presently talking to some co-op banks in different parts of India, we hope to close some wins soon," Mangipudi said.
