Karnataka Vikas Grameena Bank has come up with its Kannada version inaugurated on Tuesday. The website www.kvgbank.com/ kannada was inaugurated by Syndicate Bank general manager G C Mishra. Mishra said that rural banks are integral to the development of rural India. He added that 5 regional rural banks (RRBs) are being supported by Syndicate Bank and these stand in the top 10 RRBs of the country. "KVGB has emerged as a role model for other RRBs. It is a challenging task to work in rural areas, but it should be accepted as an opportunity to serve rural people," he said. KVGB chairman K P Muralidharan has expressed his happiness in the bank's success in reaching the common man with more effectiveness with the website. "At present, the bank's business is around Rs 7,500 crore and expects to reach Rs 10,000 crore by March 2011," he said.
