Kotak Mahindra Bank moves ahead with fin inclusion plans

Private sector lender, Kotak Mahindra Bank is moving steadily ahead with its plans for financial inclusion. It is already taking ahead its plans ahead in Mehsana with FINO Fintech Foundation and FINO Ltd. for introduction of biometric smart cards.

It has also decided to set up 50,000 no-frills accounts in Mehsana district of Gujarat by June 2011.

FINO Fintech Foundation and FINO Ltd have been assigned the respective roles of business correspondents (BCs) and technology services providers.

All customers will get access to banking services and products through these BCs, Mr. KVS Manian, Group Head, Consumer Banking, said.
