North eastern states are now going to get sub offices of Reserve Bank of India in all the capital cities. The move will be started with the first sub office of such kind being set up in Agartala, capital of Tripura.

The regional director of RBI, Surekha Marandi informed that the first sub office to be set up in Tripura is in the phase of materialisation.

"We are waiting for Tripura government's offer. As soon as the state government allots a building, we will start the process," she said.

She added that sub offices would be set up in other capital citites too in a sequential manner.
