Banknotes of Rs 10 denomination would soon be issued by Reserve Bank of India. These notes would bear additional security features with inset letter 'S' in both the numbering panels of the notes of Mahatma Gandhi series.

The new notes would bear the signature of RBI governor, D Subbarao.

Other than the new inset letter, the design of the new notes would be the same as the earlier notes of Mahatma Gandhi series, said the apex bank during a press release.

All earlier issued notes of Rs 10 denomination would continue to be valid and in circulation even after the new notes are brought into the system.
