Public sector lender, Punjab National Bank has tied up with Society for Educational Welfare and Economic Development (SEED) so as to start up a program called ''earn money and run your account'' as a part of its plan for a business model for rural areas.

According to the program, poultry farms and dairies would be opened in Rohtak to provide employment for small account holders in the area.

The bank is planning to provide smart cards to these account holders which can be brought to use by approaching the panchayats.

Hand held devices would be provided to the panchayats to verify the transactions made through these cards.
