Public sector banks (PSBs) are in huge requirement for workforce this fiscal and are set to hire as many as 45000 personnel across different posts and banks. "Approximately 45,000 officers and staff would be recruited by (nationalised) banks this year," Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) director, M Balachandran said. IBPS has been aiding banks in the recruitment process since 1984. It is an institution promoted by RBI and PSBs. Balachandran added that the recruitment process will also be able to fill up the vacancy created by hige number of bank officials retiring this fiscal. Presently there are 26 PSBs in the country but IBPS exam will be conducted only for the 19 nationalized banks.
