Citi bank has appointed Ravi Kapoor as the head of its global banking operations in India. Kapoor is to take charge of the post with immediate effect. He has 22 years of experience in banking and capital markets. Before joining Citi in the year 2005, he was associated with ICICI Group and DSP Merrill Lynch. Kapoor would be reporting to Citi's country head Pramit Jhaveri and head of global banking in Asia Pacific, Farhan Faruqui. "With Ravi's longstanding relationships with key Indian corporates and financial institutions, and his track record of leading numerous landmark transactions, he is ideally positioned to build upon our Global Banking business in India" said Pramit Jhaveri. Prior to getting appointed in his new post, Kapoor was the head of South Asia capital markets origination. His responsibilities in the new post will include the coverage of Citi's largest institutional clients via a set of products in the range of corporate banking, lending, capital markets and advisory products. Kapoor has been instrumental in some of the noteworthy and innovative capital market transactions in India. |
