The largest lender of the country, State Bank of India has started its first gold loan outlet in Chandigarh. This happens to be the first outlet of the kind by the lender in northern India.

The outlet will exclusively cater to gold loan needs of the customers.

Customers can now avail loan against their gold ornaments at lucrative interest rates, said the bank in a release.

The bank has also introduced its first self service kiosk (SSK) in Chandigarh.
