New Delhi: Founded by Rana Kapoor, Yes Bank is the newest private sector bank in India and it has risen to occupy India’s No. 3 Bank in a recent survey of listed banks in India by a leading business publication. The balance sheet of Yes Bank has bloated to a whopping Rs.13,000 crore in just a span of three years. Rana Kapoor summarizes the mission of Yes Bank, "Our mission is to build the finest quality brand in banking." Targeting a growth of about 70 to 90 percent over the next three years, Yes Bank is planning to raise Rs. 500 crores in 2007-2008 to fund its tier-1 growth. Yes Bank presently has 60 branches and it is all set to expand its network to 100 branches by March 2008. In this process it has received licences from RBI to open 56 new branches and 200 ATM's. Yes Bank is planning a cluster- hub model for its growth. It has identified eight regions, with each region having around 40 clusters. There will be a hub branch acting as the main branch for every cluster. This business model will help Yes Bank to make the most of its network both at technological and operational level. Each cluster will cater to the needs of local populace. In the retail loan segment, Yes Bank has launched personal and small business loans in nine cities on pilot basis and is gradually increasing its coverage. Yes Bank is also planning to enter the mortgage market and auto loans by April 2008. In the second half of 2008-09, when the customer base of Yes Bank is expected to reach a figure of 5 lakhs, it will venture into the credit card segment. Motivated and well trained staff at every level is a thing, which can't be overlooked and Yes School of Banking has been established to provide proper training and management of human resources at Yes Bank. Today, Yes Bank has its presence across all major cities in India and offers a wide range of banking products and financial services, which include corporate and institutional banking, investment banking, financial markets, business and transactional banking, retail and private banking across the country.
