Canara Bank gets on board Sudha Krishnan as Nominee Director

The Government has appointed Ms Sudha Krishnan as nominee director on board of public sector lender, Canara Bank. Ms Sudha Krishnan is presently Joint Secretary in the expenditure department.

Canara Bank in the statement said, "...the central government, nominated Sudha Krishnan, Joint Secretary, Department of Expenditure, as government nominee director on the board of directors of Canara Bank with immediate effect and until further orders".

Earlier to Ms Krishnan, Mr. Thomas Mathew held the post with the Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance.

Earlier in the month, the public sector bank, Canara Bank, has released its financial results for the second quarter of this year. The bank has reported 22.44 percent decrease in profits for this quarter owing to decline in its non interest income. Currently, its profits stand at Rs. 660.97 crore.
